 Prior to these executions, the last executions in Chad were carried out in November 2003, when nine people were executed over a period of three days.  The last execution to take place in Chad was the execution by firing squad of 10 members of Boko Haram on August, 29, 2015, following their conviction of crimes including murder and the use of explosives on August 28, 2015.  A provocation or offer to commit treason is also punishable by death.
