People get ill everyday but they somehow recover and are able to seek opportunity and they are made whole.Ex-felons on the other hand suffer for a lifetime for decisions that they made in the spur of the moment.Nonetheless I defend my actions for my life's choices and would hope that no one would talk trash without my being able to defend myself.
But you are crucifying a man over something while not allowing him to defend himself. They do not know the circumstances surrounding the my conviction.
However, people look at me as that and not as the innocent man I truly am.
Decisions such as these makes rational people think about whether these people actually ever posed a threat to society in the first place.
According to the research, there are approximately 2.8 million ex-felons currently locked up in jails and prisons in the U. African American make up approximately 47% of the inmate population in the U. yet they account for only 12.7 % of the population in the U. African Americans are disproportionately represented in every state in the U. This means that their percentage in the prison population is greater than their percentage in the state’s general population.
See: biggest issue with online dating is that most of the men are not revealing that they are convicted felons. We meet and shortly after I fell very hard for him and he gave me the impression he fell just as hard for me..anyway I later found out he had a wife and kid at home and he spent 7 years in prison and later was convicted again for identity theft . I decided to look him up because I knew that I wanted something long term and I have two children to think about. Just because you get a bad steak doesn't mean that you going to stop eating steak right?!
That should be one of the first things that is told. Maybe I should have looked sooner, but he was quit the intellectual that I didnt think twice about it. I want you to trust me bc I want to be able to build a relationship and a bond with them so they don't feel like this baby is more important... You might not eat it at the same restaurant or place you got it from..you'll probably just be more careful when choosing and before you start to enjoy that steak!!!
Today we are beginning to witness a paradigm shift in how ex-felons are treated.
Unfortunately it is not because of the reasons that we would think.
And it ain't even that you are naive it could be that you are just very kind hearted or yearn for true love..just can't trust people now days!!! But I have 2 older kids and he didn't meet them til I was like 7 months pregnant and that's because I still didn't fully trust him...
The stigma associated with being an ex-felon in America is unlike anything a person can comprehend unless they walk in the shoes of ex-felons.
Ex-felons have a much lower rate of recidivating when they are released to stable living environment and caring families.
